Not to brag or anything, but at Herbal Ladies we pride ourselves on having great hair! While it’s fun to experiment with cuts and colours, in our opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than naturally shiny, long locks.

If there is one thing we don’t feel guilty about, it’s spending on products for a good hair health routine, especially when its organic! So here we go with our list of natural remedies to grow your hair faster and longer.

Mane Magic by Organic Oliva

Okay so, we briefly touched upon Mane Magic as a supplement in our recent article about Dong Quai. Dong Quai is just one of the ingredients in this organic hair supplement, and we want to give you a little more information about it as well as the results its had on our hair.

Mane Magic is a tonic made from a blend of Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs, 9 to be exact. This is a completely clean product.

All the the herbs used are free of pesticides, and any other junk. That’s one of the reasons why we are so fond of Organic Oliva, the products are wild-crafted, which means they are gathered directly from their natural environment.

What we have noticed about the blend of herbs used to formulate Mane Magic is that they for the most part, are all herbs that nourish your blood and promote circulation.

This is why the tonic works.

It encourages the circulation of the blood in the body, which in turn brings the blood upto the hair folicles and nourishes them. Many of the herbs used also help the nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety, which is often a hair-loss culprit.

Our review on this product is still in process, I personally still have more than half the bottle left. A few of us at Herbal Ladies have integrated it our hair care routine, in order to get an unbiased review.

I was just so excited about this addition to my routine that I had to put it out there early for you guys!

I’m completely obsessed with anything that will help my hair in this next chapter of my life (cause lets face it, even if you’re born with a good head of hair, its not likely to keep its oumf forever). I’ve read review after review on Mane Magic and they are AMAZING.

Folexin for Hair Growth

Alright, next on the roster for hair supplements is Folexin. This is to date my 1# recommendation for growing strong hair, quickly.  I had been using this product for well over 6 months now. I stopped to try mane magic and compare.

Folexin is a supplement that contains Biotin, Saw Palmetto, Vitamin B5, Folic Acid, and Fo-Ti. All these ingredients are 100% natural. I used to take Biotin gummies every morning but after doing my research and finding a product that not only contains Biotin,  but 5 other magical hair loving ingredients, it was clear to me that this was worth try.

If you’re unfamiliar with these ingredients and what they do for your hair, or want to know more about my experience with Folexin.  I have an entire article explaining every detail. There’s even photo proof of my hair progress! Go check it out 😉

Stimulation Remedies for  Natural Hair Growth

Another great way to encourage your hair to grow naturally, is by stimulating the scalp with a massage.

A scalp massage is typically performed using the tips of the fingers, and is a little more gentle than and regular massage.

Incorporating a scalp massage into your daily routine has been proven to thicken hair. Such a simple thing, but it works! Why does this work though?

Massaging the scalp stimulates the hair follicles by stretching hair cells. It also promotes blood circulation to the scalp, which we already know is great for hairgrowth.

This type of massage can be done with or without oil. I use oil for my scalp massage only once or twice a month.

My favorite oils to use are castor oil, and coconut oil. Using castor oil for hair growth is especially helpful if you tend to have a drier scalp.

Being from Canada, I usually incorporate this into my routine during the winter months when my skin is naturally more dry and lacking. It’s perhaps a routine that is not necessary for all hair types, but it’s definitely worth a try if you are looking for natural hair growth remedies.

During my fake eyelashes phase in my early twenties, I used to use castor oil for the regrowth of my eyelashes. It worked so well. This is how I know about this oil.

Castor oil has always been one of my favorite on my list of natural remedies to grow hair faster and longer. I am shocked it is not talked about enough.

Just be careful though because it is a very thick oil. I would suggest diluting it with another oil such as coconut or olive, or even making a mask with it. For the eyelashes though, I would use just castor oil. To apply, I use a cleaned out mascara brush.

You can also do this for eyebrows as well.

More Tips We Love

We have a couple more tips that may help with your hair growth mission. We are pretty radical when it comes to hair care routines, and decided to collectively brainstorm all the ways we tend to our manes:

  • No hair dye or bleach
  • Trim only once or twice a year to remove dead ends
  • Wash maximum twice a week
  • Braid after washing
  • Do not apply heat only air dry
  •  Silk scrunchies
  • Silk pillow case
  • Avoid hair ties which cause breakage of hair, if you must ensure, it is silk.
  • Use clips instead of hair ties
